Sudan has overturned the death sentence for teenager Noura Hussein who killed her husband after he raped her. The 19-year-old has instead been given a five-year jail term for killing her 35-year-old husband.

The case sparked international outrage and several petitions worldwide had called for her sentence to be dropped after the teenager's story put a spotlight on forced marriage and marital rape in Sudan, where the legal age to enter into marriage is 10 and marital rape is not a crime.

Noura's family had forced her to get married at 15, but allowed her to finish school. Three years later, after a public marriage ceremony, her husband tried to consummate the marriage.

The Ibadan office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday June 26, 2018, arraigned one Iyabo Ruth Okoh and her company, Mega Bolex Quarry Ltd before Hon. Justice A. N. Akintola of the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan, on a 2-count charge bordering on stealing and obtaining money under false pretense.

The journey to the dock for Okoh followed a petition to the Commission alleging that sometimes in March, 2016, she invited the petitioner (name withheld) to invest in her company, Mega Bolex Quarry Ltd as a shareholder and thereafter be issued a share certificate.

Dead Baby Bounced Back to Life
My daughter returned from school on Thursday 21st June, 2018 safe and sound with no traces of ailment whatsoever. After taking her lunch she decided to sleep, but after long hours of sleep I went to check on her and discovered that she was lifeless. 
I quickly raised alarm but all efforts were to no avail. Her body became stiff and cold. All hope was lost. I quickly rushed the baby to the church amidst crying and wailing with the slogan “Operation 615 is blessing and not sorrow”. The Pastor collected the baby from me and laid her on the altar praying. While the prayer was going on the Resident Pastor kept saying “Jesus the God of my father Bishop Oyedepo do it again”. Miraculously, I suddenly saw my baby moving her body and crying.” 
I have come to return all the glory to the God of my father Bishop Oyedepo.

The young man was said to have attempted suicide by jumping in front of an NY subway train. But luckily for him, the train engineer managed to stop the train.

In the video shared online, a group of angry New York passengers were heard threatening to attack the suicidal man for delaying the subway before Police stormed the scene and took him away.

The Lagos State High Court at Igbosere has ordered the remand of Udeme Otike-Odibi, a female lawyer, at Kirikiri Prison for killing her 52-year-old husband, Symphorosa Otike-Odibi.

Recall that on May 3rd, Udeme stabbed her husband to death and attempted to commit suicide at their home in Diamond Estate in Ogombo, Ajah area. 

She was arrested by the police and was today arraigned in court by the Lagos State government on a two-count charge of murder. She however pleaded not guilty to both charges.

The offence is contrary to Section 1 (2) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under Section 1 (3) of the same Act.

Taofeek was arraigned following a petition to the Commission alleging that sometime in May, 2017, he approached the complainant (name withheld) and informed him that he has 5 plots of land to sell and that he inherited it from his father. They both agreed for 4 plots of land and to pay N400, 000.00(Four Hundred Thousand Naira) only for each making a total of N1,600,000.00 (One Million, Six Hundred Thousand Naira) only.

After payment was made to the defendant, the defendant allegedly became evasive when the petitioner requested for the Land Sale Agreement. It was at that point that he discovered it was a fraud and all efforts made to get his money back seemed abortive.

An armed robbery suspect, Fidellis Nelson, 41, who was recently arrested by men of the Ogun state police command for operating a robbery gang that terrorize residents of Lagos and Ogun states,  says he went into crime so he could raise enough money to start his own church.

Fidelis and his gang members identified as Emmanuel Ogaba aka Tablet, 45; Matthew Ogaba, 30; Fidelis Nelson aka MP, 41; Augustine Stanley, 31; Abayomi Adebisi, 42, and Emmanuel Olusegun, 37, were arrested in Lagos while trying to sell off the cars they stole in Ogun state.
