A new season always makes me want to refresh everything: my wardrobe, my home, my fragrance and, of course, my makeup bag.
There is something exciting about opening a beautiful compact, discovering a new lipstick shade or finding a foundation that makes the skin look naturally polished. Makeup is not simply about covering imperfections. For me, it is about creativity, confidence and enjoying the ritual of getting ready.
This season, I want my beauty collection to feel luxurious but useful. I am looking for products that enhance rather than disguise, shades that can move effortlessly from morning to evening and beautiful formulas that make an ordinary day feel a little more special.
From Ashley Milan and MAC to Dior, Givenchy and Prada Beauty, these are the products currently inspiring my dream makeup collection.
And honestly? I want them all.
Beautiful Skin Is Always the Foundation
Before lipstick, eyeshadow or blush, I want the skin to look fresh, smooth and beautifully cared for.
My perfect base is polished but never heavy. I want a foundation that evens the complexion while allowing the skin to remain visible, paired with a concealer that brightens the under-eye area without settling into fine lines.
The goal is not to create a completely different face. It is to look rested, radiant and naturally refined.
A light layer of foundation applied from the centre of the face and blended outward can create a far more modern finish than covering every inch with a thick base. Concealer should then be used only where it is needed—beneath the eyes, around the nose or over any areas of discolouration.
For the final touch, a finely milled loose powder can reduce unwanted shine while keeping the complexion soft and elegant. This is where my Ashley Milan loose powder earns its place among my seasonal essentials. A small amount pressed gently onto the skin can help set the base without making the face appear flat.
The secret is moderation. Powder should perfect the complexion, not remove every trace of natural light.
The Lipsticks I Cannot Resist
If there is one beauty product capable of changing your entire mood in seconds, it is lipstick.
A nude lipstick can make an everyday outfit feel composed. A soft rose looks feminine and effortless, while a classic red brings instant confidence. Deep berry and burgundy shades introduce drama and richness, especially during the cooler months.
This season, I want a carefully edited lipstick wardrobe rather than dozens of shades that look almost identical. My ideal collection would contain a flattering nude, a warm rose, an elegant red and one deeper evening shade.
MAC will always be part of the conversation when I think about lipstick. The brand’s instantly recognisable black packaging and extensive range of colours make its lipsticks feel both practical and iconic. A MAC red has the power to transform a simple white shirt and jeans, while a sophisticated nude can complete a beautifully tailored neutral outfit.
Dior brings another kind of pleasure—the glamour of opening an exquisite lipstick case and applying a colour that feels like part of the outfit itself. Givenchy offers polished drama, while Prada Beauty gives classic lip colour a sleek, contemporary attitude.
The perfect lipstick should do more than look beautiful in the packaging. It should feel comfortable, apply evenly and make you want to wear it repeatedly.
Why a Classic Red Lip Never Fails
Trends may come and go, but a red lip remains timeless.
Red lipstick can make the face look brighter, the teeth appear whiter and even the simplest outfit feel intentional. It works beautifully with fresh skin, softly defined brows and minimal eye makeup.
The key is finding your red.
Some women feel most confident in a blue-toned crimson, while others glow in warmer tomato, brick or orange-red shades. A deep cherry red can feel rich and sophisticated, while a sheer red balm offers a softer way to wear the colour during the day.
When the lipstick is bold, I prefer to keep everything else restrained. A clean base, brushed brows, mascara and a touch of blush allow the lips to remain the focus.
It is proof that looking polished does not always require a complicated routine.
Blush Is Having Its Moment
Blush has returned to the centre of modern makeup, and I completely understand why.
The right blush can make the complexion look healthy, youthful and full of life. Applied softly across the cheeks, it creates the kind of natural colour we usually have after a walk in fresh air.
For this season, I am drawn to rose, berry, terracotta and softly bronzed shades. Cream blush offers a luminous, skin-like finish, while powder blush can provide greater staying power and a beautifully refined effect.
A Dior blush compact would bring timeless elegance to the collection, while Givenchy’s sophisticated colour combinations can make cheek makeup feel more creative. I love the idea of choosing a shade based on the mood of the day—soft rose for romance, warm terracotta for understated glamour and deep berry for a richer seasonal look.
Blush should not sit on the face like an obvious stripe. Blend it upward and outward, allowing the edges to disappear naturally into the skin.
The Quiet Power of a Neutral Eye
Neutral eye makeup may sound simple, but when done beautifully, it is incredibly effective.
A palette containing cream, taupe, caramel, bronze and chocolate can create countless looks. A light wash of colour is perfect for daytime, while deeper shades can add definition for the evening.
Prada Beauty’s sleek, architectural approach feels ideal for a modern neutral eye. Givenchy brings refined glamour, and Dior offers the kind of elegant colour combinations that can become dependable favourites.
For an effortless look, apply a soft neutral shade across the lid, add a deeper colour close to the lash line and finish with mascara. For evening, introduce a little shimmer at the centre of the lid or softly smoke the outer corner.
The finished eye should enhance your natural features rather than compete with them.
Mascara: The Small Product That Makes a Big Difference
Even on days when I wear very little makeup, mascara can make me look more awake.
A good mascara should define, lengthen and separate the lashes without creating heavy clumps. One careful coat may be enough for daytime, while an additional layer can produce a more dramatic evening finish.
The application matters just as much as the formula. Begin close to the roots, move the wand gently from side to side and pull it upward through the lashes. This creates definition from the base rather than placing all the product at the ends.
Beautiful lashes frame the eyes and complete the entire makeup look with very little effort.
The Luxury of Beautiful Packaging
Of course, makeup must perform well—but beautiful packaging brings another layer of enjoyment.
There is something undeniably special about a weighted compact, a polished lipstick case or a beautifully designed fragrance bottle sitting on the dressing table. Dior, Givenchy and Prada understand how to make everyday beauty products feel like desirable objects.
Luxury beauty is not only about the name printed on the packaging. It is about the full experience: the texture of the formula, the ease of application, the shade selection and the way the product makes you feel when you use it.
A beautiful compact can turn a quick touch-up into a small ritual of self-care.
However, packaging alone is never enough. A product deserves a permanent place in my collection only if I genuinely enjoy using it.
My Five-Minute Seasonal Face
My ideal everyday routine is simple, polished and realistic.
I begin with light foundation or skin tint, applying only enough to even the complexion. I brighten where necessary with concealer before pressing a small amount of Ashley Milan loose powder onto the areas that need setting.
Next comes blush to restore colour, followed by softly groomed brows and a neutral shade across the eyelids. Mascara opens the eyes, while lipstick provides the final mood.
For daytime, I might choose a warm nude or gentle rose. If I want instant glamour, I will reach for red.
The entire look should feel fresh and sophisticated without requiring an hour in front of the mirror.
Makeup Should Make You Feel Like Yourself
It is easy to become overwhelmed by new launches, viral products and complicated beauty routines. Social media can make us feel as though we need an enormous collection to look polished.
We do not.
A thoughtful makeup bag containing products that suit your skin, lifestyle and personal taste is far more valuable than a drawer filled with things you rarely use.
The purpose of makeup is not to make every woman look the same. It should allow us to express different sides of ourselves. Some days call for a barely-there glow. Others demand a dramatic lip, sculpted eye or touch of unapologetic glamour.
Beauty should remain enjoyable.
Buy With Intention
Before adding a new product to my collection, I try to consider what role it will play.
Do I already own a similar shade? Will I wear it regularly? Does the formula suit my skin? Can it work with other products I already love?
Luxury makeup can be a wonderful treat, but the most satisfying purchases are the ones we use repeatedly. One perfect lipstick is more valuable than several forgotten shades. A reliable powder that performs beautifully every morning deserves its place more than a decorative compact that remains unopened.
The dream is not simply to own beautiful makeup.
The dream is to build a collection that is beautiful, useful and completely personal.
My Beauty Mood for the New Season
This season, I want radiant skin, softly flushed cheeks, elegant neutral eyes and lips that can move from understated nude to confident red.
I want Ashley Milan for a polished finish, MAC for iconic lip colour, Dior for timeless glamour, Givenchy for refined sophistication and Prada for modern beauty with a fashion-forward edge.
Do I need everything at once? Probably not.
Do I still want it all? Absolutely.
Because beauty is sometimes about practicality—and sometimes, it is about the pure joy of discovering something gorgeous.
So tell me: Which product would you choose first—Ashley Milan, MAC, Dior, Givenchy or Prada?
And are you a nude-lip woman, a classic-red devotee or someone who changes her lipstick with her mood?
My new-season makeup edit has officially begun—and it is looking beautifully luxurious.
xoxo,
ROMINAH
