Man kills himself and entire family in car crash as he was livestreaming while driving (video)

A man mistakenly killed himself and eight other members of his family in a horrific car crash as he was livestreaming while driving.

The van, which carried nine members of the same family, collided with an oncoming truck on a highway about 60 kilometers from Budapest in Hungary. Everyone on board was killed instantly. 

The van’s driver, a 38 years old male, was streaming the ride live on Facebook and wasn't paying attention to the road in front of him. Towards the end of the video, the van is seen driving at top speed straight into the path of an oncoming truck.

The video ends with the camera falling after the car and the truck collided. No one survived.

Mother takes her children up to the roof and threatens to toss them off the ledge (video)

A mother and her two little children were rescued after she went up a roof with them and stood dangerously close to the edge.

The Delray Beach police responded to a call on Saturday of a woman and children standing on a roof. When the officers arrived on the scene, they found a 23-year-old woman with her two small children. The three were on the garage ledge on a townhouse and the children were crying out in fear.

One of the officers, Rob Addea, immediately stood under the window, so that he would be ready to catch them if they fall.

"Just get the kids back inside. Please. Please. That’s all we want you to do," he begged the woman who is believed to have been under the influence of a substance.

FG declares Tuesday, May 29th public holiday

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, May 29, as public holiday to celebrate the 2018 Democracy Day.

Minister of Interior, retired Lt.-Gen Abdulrahman Dambazau, made the declaration on Friday in Abuja on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement issued by Dr M. Umar the Permanent Secretary.  

Dambazau congratulated Nigerians on the occasion and pledged government’s continued dedication to entrenching democracy in the country. He also urged all Nigerians to trust and support the government in its commitment to building an indivisible, peaceful and greater nation based on the tenets of democracy.

The Minister wished all Nigerians a Happy Democracy Day celebration.

A Catholic priest, Rev. Godwin Tyragher, who shared the sad news on Facebook, said proper treatment would have saved the child.

"This my parishioners,one of the IDPs at Daudu camp lost her only son this morning.pls may u kindly continue to pray and support IDPs especially those who are sick among them.Ordinarily if proper medical attention is given to this child, he couldn't have died"

Former banker arraigned for stealing N16 million in Ibadan

The Ibadan Zonal Office of EFCC on Friday 25th May, 2018 arraigned one Sunday Fadayomi, a former banker, before Justice M. L. Owolabi of the Oyo State High Court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan, on 30-count charges bordering on stealing contrary to Section 390 (6) (9) Criminal Code, Cap 38, vol. 2, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

In view of the defendant’s not-guilty plea, prosecution counsel Adeola Elumaro prayed the court for a trial date.  However, counsel to the defendant, Suleman Umaru Jabata informed the court of an application for bail dated 24 May, 2018, praying the court to admit the defendant to bail pending the determination of the charges against him. He further prayed the court to allow the defendant remain in the EFCC’s custody pending bail. Prosecution counsel however, told the court that if bail will be granted on terms that will ensure the continuous availability of the defendant in court, he will not oppose the bail.

Update: Police recover Gombe State House of Assembly mace that was stolen

Police in Gombe State confirm that they have recovered the mace of the state’s House of Assembly, forcefully taken away in a scuffle by some members during plenary on Thursday.  

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Shina Olukolu told newsmen in Gombe that the mace was found around National Industrial Court in the state capital in the early hours of Friday.

The mace, the symbol of authority of the legislature, was said to have been whisked away by some aggrieved members of the assembly after a failed attempt to change their leadership.

EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, on Thursday, May 24, 2018,  arraigned one Michael Obasuyi Osasogie alongside his firms-Platinum Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society, SmartMicro Systems Limited and Platinum Smart Cruise Motors Limited- before Justice Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja on a 14-count charge bordering on stealing to the tune of over eleven billion naira (N11, 498, 944, 038.29), an offence which is contrary to Section 285 (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

2019: ''VP Yemi Osinbajo's position threatened'' - President Buhari

President Buhari today jokingly said the position of Vice President Yemu Osinbajo is threatened. The president said this when he received a delegation of the Conference of Nigerian Female Parliamentarians at the state house today May 25th.

The delegation had asked President Buhari if their was a possiblilty for a Female Vice President of the country. Responding to their request, President Buhari said

"It is a pity the VP is not here, but I believe the Secretary to the Government of the Federation will brief him that his position is threatened . It is only the vice president who is threatened. And if we win the next election, he may lose his election." he said 

Cardi B claps back at Azealia Banks' 'illiterate' criticism by posting high school yearbook photos

Rappers, Cardi B and Azealia Banks reignited their feud earlier this month by dragging each other on social media.

The pregnant rapper had to delete her Instagram account after Azealia called her an 'illiterate, untalented rat' and a 'caricature of a black woman,' in an interview.

After staying off social media for some time, she returned on Sunday to promote her new video 'Be Careful.'

Yesterday, the 25-year-old rapper clapped back at Azealia Banks's criticism of her literacy by posting a series of her own high school yearbook photos, before quickly deleting them again.

Rapper Khia says murdered Sante Fe students got what they deserved

Exactly one week ago, on May 18, 2018, a 17-year-old student opened fire on students and teachers of Santa Fe High School, Texas, killing 10 people and leaving 13 with injuries.

While the families of the dead are still coming to terms with the tragedy, Talk show host/rapper Khia has spat on their wounds by saying their dead loved ones deserved what they got.

During her podcast, Khia spoke about bullying and said it was telling that 17-year- old shooter Dimitrios Pagourtzis had no friends in school. She said teachers and students made no efforts to befriend him, hence they deserve what happened to them.

Australia, Netherlands hold Russia legally responsible for MH17 plane crash that killed 298 people

Australia and the Netherlands have decided to officially hold Russia accountable for its role in downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in 2014, paving the way for the two countries to possibly take legal action against Moscow.  

MH17, en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was shot down over eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014, killing all 298 people on board. In a report from the Dutch-led Joint Investigation Team (JIT) issued Thursday, international investigators said the Buk anti-aircraft system used to bring down the jet belonged to the Russian military.  

Dutch Foreign Affairs Minister, Stef Blok said in a statement on Friday “The Netherlands and Australia are now convinced that Russia is responsible for the deployment of the Buk installation that was used to down MH17. The government is now taking the next step by formally holding Russia accountable,” Blok said.  

“Australia and the Netherlands have informed the Russian Federation that we hold it responsible under international law for its role in the downing of MH17,” Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said.  

Bishop and Blok said their governments asked Russia on Friday to enter talks about its role in the disaster in order to find a solution “that would do justice to the tremendous suffering and damage” caused by the downing. The case could next be presented to an international court or organization for judgement, the Dutch and Australian governments said.

Catholic priest infected with Ebola in Congo

The current outbreak of Ebola is spreading in Democratic Republic of Congo as a Catholic priest has been quarantined after being infected with the virus.  

According to health officials in Congo, he was infected in the town of Mbandaka. “We have quarantined a priest from the diocese of Mbandaka-Bikoro who tested positive” for the Ebola virus, a medical source told AFP.

DRC health officials launched a small, targeted vaccination campaign this week to help rein in the latest Ebola outbreak in the country, which so far has claimed 27 lives. Kinshasa announced on May 8 that there had been cases of the notorious haemorrhagic fever in a remote northwestern district called Bikoro.

North Korea has said its supreme leader, Kim Jong Un is still willing to meet Donald Trump "at any time," despite the US President's abrupt cancellation of what would have been a historic summit between the two leaders, scheduled for June 12.

Kim Kye Gwan, a top official at North Korea's Foreign Ministry, said Trump's decision to cancel the talks runs counter to the global community's wishes for peace on the Korean Peninsula. "We would like to make known to the US side once again that we have the intent to sit with the US side to solve problem(s) regardless of ways at any time," said Kim in comments published by the country's state-run news agency KCNA Friday.

Bomb blast in Toronto restaurant injures 15; hunt on for 2 suspects who detonated bomb

At least 15 people have been injured, and three are in critical condition, after two suspects detonated a bomb in a restaurant near Toronto, Canada.

Police responded to calls of an explosion at the Bombay Bhel restaurant in the Toronto suburb of Mississaugua, in Ontario, around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday. They arrived to find dozens wounded and the suspects were nowhere in sight.

Femi Fani-Kayode and wife welcome their triplets, all boys, on her birthday

Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode and his wife Precious Chikwendu have welcomed three boys.

The couple welcomed the triplets this morning. It also happens to be Precious' birthday so it's double celebration for the family.

The boys have been named Ragnar, Aiden, and Liam. The couple already have one son named Arargorn.

Announcing the good news, FFK wrote: "I give thanks to God for the birth of my three beautiful sons Ragnar, Aiden and Liam this morning. They are so beautiful. Precious and the three boys are doing very well. Today is her birthday: what a wonderful birthday gift that the Lord has given to us. To God be the glory!"

President Buhari has approved new appointments for four federal government agencies.

The appointments were contained in a statement released by the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office (GSO), Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Olusegun A. Adekunle.

Trump grants posthumous pardon to first black heavyweight champion Jack Johnson

President Donald Trump has granted posthumous pardon to boxing's first black heavyweight champion, Jack Johnson,  more than 100 years after what Trump said many feel was a racially motivated injustice.

Trump was joined by boxer Lennox Lewis and actor Sylvester Stallone as he announced the decision today.

In a statement, he said: "I believe that Jack Johnson is a very worthy person to receive a full pardon, and in this case, a posthumous pardon. So I am taking this very righteous step, I believe, to correct a wrong that occurred in our history and to honor a truly legendary boxing champion."

Johnson, who died in a car crash in North Carolina in 1946, at the age of 68, was convicted by an all-white jury in Chicago in 1913 of violating the Mann Act for transporting a woman across state lines for “immoral purposes.”
