Corps member slumps and dies on duty at Lagos State Secretariat

A corps member  identified as Ibukun Arowolo, serving with the Lagos State Government has died after he slumped at the government secretariat on Thursday.

According to reports, the corps member was serving with the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget before he died. He was said to have slumped and died five days to his completion of his youth service with the government.

A social experiment saw a man intentionally dropping his wallet with $2,000 cash in it and a homeless man found it and returned it. The homeless man further surprised everyone by using his reward to buy food for other homeless people.

Waqas Shah conducted a social experiment around New York's Union Square where a number of homeless people often reside. Shah is seen on camera deliberately dropping his wallet right in front of a homeless man.

1-year old baby girl dies after being stuck in father’s truck for hours

A 1-year old child Katera Barker was found dead in her father’s truck is East Nashville, Tennessee according to Police Reports.

According to investigations, the girl’s adoptive father had driven her and her older sister to day care and had dropped off the older one but forgot to drop off Katera. He reportedly returned home and used a ride-sharing app to get a lift to the airport. It wasn’t until his wife went to pick the kids from day care that she realized what had happened.  

Katera was pronounced dead on arrival at the Monroe Carrell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Three INEC officials arraigned for N111.6 million money laundering in Enugu State

The Enugu Zonal office of EFCC on Friday May 25, 2018 arraigned three serving and former officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Imo State.

The accused are: Igwe Chukwuemeka, the former Chief Administrative Officer; Irokwu Uma Okorie, a serving Administrative Secretary of the same office and an Accountant during the 2015 general election in the state INEC; Onyema Onyebuchi.

They were arraigned before Justice Lewis Alagoa of Federal High Court, Owerri, Imo State on a three -count charge of conspiracy and money laundering to the tune of N11,660,000 (Eleven Million, Six Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira).

The arraignment of the trio was sequel to their roles in the collection and distribution of funds released by the former Minister of Petroleum Resources under Dr. Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, Mrs. Alisson Madueke to some INEC officials during the 2015 general election.

Investigations revealed that the returning officers and local government collection officers in the state were each paid, N500.000 while those at the wards were each paid N250,000.
