Real Madrid and Portugal striker, Cristiano Ronaldo is not only one of the greatest footballers of all time but he's also one of the richest sportsmen in the World.

According to an article on Time Magazine, the 33-year-old soccer star, who is a forward on Spain’s Real Madrid team and also plays for Portugal’s national team, has a massive net worth of around $400 million.

He was considered the highest-paid athlete in the world for the last two years until American boxer Floyd Mayweather dethroned him this year.

Ronaldo who also falls behind his football rival Lionel Messi, is now the third-highest paid athlete thanks to his $61 million salary and bonuses as well as the $47 million he earns in endorsements, according to Forbes.

The Portuguese star who's one of the most popular figures in the world has more than 322 million social media followers, with 129 million followers on Instagram, 122 million on Facebook and almost 74 million followers on Twitter. 

Kidnap kingpin, Evans and his lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje part ways

Olukoya Ogungbeje, the lead counsel to alleged kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike a.k.a. Evans has withdrawn from the case which is currently before the Lagos State High Court.  

Ogungbeje, in a press statement, said his withdrawal was based on “personal reasons.” According to him, his life and that of his co-defence lawyer have been repeatedly threatened.  

His statement partly reads, “for the avoidance of doubt, we wish to state categorically that we have fought a good fight this far despite repeated and sustained threats to my life and my co-defence lawyers, I dare say we have no regrets whatsoever having conducted the criminal charges involving our client this far. For the sake of history we have been able to enrich the basic principles of our Criminal Jurisprudence especially the principle premised on an accused person being presumed innocent until the contrary is proved no matter the public opinion and the criticism. We have been able to keep the prosecution on their toes in the art of Forensic, proper and thorough investigation and prosecution of accused persons.”

'I won’t refund any money to EFCC' – Former Oyo State governor, Rashidi Ladoja

Former Governor of Oyo State, Rashidi Ladoja on Friday said he was not worried by the ongoing suit instituted against him by EFCC saying that he will not refund any money to the anti-graft agency because he did not steal while in government.  

The EFCC took Ladoja to court over alleged misappropriation of state funds while in office between 2003 and 2007.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde reveals she has never voted in any Nigerian election

Actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, 40, revealed today that she has never voted before in the country's election and neither has she ever tried to.

Waffle House has been criticized after a black couple was handcuffed by police officers outside an outlet in Florida following a dispute over the check.

Footage from a police officer's body camera revealed a clash between a black couple and police officers at the chain. The footage shows police entering a Waffle House in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. In the video, two people are seen inside the restaurant arguing with employees regarding the bill, which the customers say was overly high.

The FCT police command today paraded the suspected killers of Charity Aiyedogbon who went missing since May 2016. The suspects 27 year old Chukwujekwu Ezeugo and 28 year old Emmanuel Adogah were apprehened on June 11th after years of investigation.

The Commissioner of Police in the FCT, Sadiq Bello who paraded them before newsmen, said that Ezeugo confessed to killing the deceased who was his girlfriend so he could take possession of her Acura ZDS Jeep and other property which have been recovered form him.

25-year-old unemployed man, Kabiru Saka, was today arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly touching a married woman, Mrs Faith Ijiogbe's breasts at the Alagbado area of Lagos state on Monday June 11th.

Police prosecutor, Sgt. Dada Wasiu, who arraigned him before the court, said asides the indecent act, Kabiru was also being accused of stealing. He told the court that on the day of the incident, the accused had begged the complainant to give him a carton of canned drinks which accidentally fell off a motorcycle that was taking her to her shop. He husband was on another motorcycle riding behind her.

World Cup 2018: Russia Govt stop Nigeria from bringing live chickens into stadium

The Russian government has rejected a request by Super Eagles supporters to bring in live chickens into the Kaliningrad Stadium for Nigeria's opening clash against Croatia on Saturday.

The chickens already painted in green and white were expected to bring good luck to the Super Eagles.

Speaking about the request made by the Nigerian supporters, Russian Minister of Culture and Tourism, Andrei Ernak, told interfax.ru that the request was turned down.

Trial of former Katsina State governor, Ibrahim Shema adjourned to October 15

The trial of a former governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shehu Shema before Justice Babagana Ashgar of the Federal High Court sitting in Katsina could not continue on June 13, 2018 following an application brought by the defendant challenging the competency of the charge.

The application was moved by counsel representing the defendant,  J.B Daudu SAN asking the court to quash the 26 count charge against his client on the grounds that the star witness, one Nasiru Salisu Ingawa is being prosecuted for the same offence by the ICPC at the Katsina State High Court.According to him,it is an abuse of court process to continue with current matter until that issue is resolved.

Daudu also asked the court to declare section 396(2) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, ACJA which says all application shall be taken along with the substantive case at the judgment stage.
