A 3-year-old girl was lured by a suspected kidnapper and abducted last Friday in China. Luckily, she was rescued unharmed a day later.

In a CCTV footage, the suspected human trafficker is seen leading the girl to his motorcycle after luring her by buying her snacks. The girl seemed reluctant to go with him but he eventually gets her on his motorcycle and drives away with her while she was still holding the food he bought.

Locals worship in their burnt church after the building was torched in the Plateau massacre carried out by suspected Fulani herdsmen (photos)

Courageous worshippers held church service in their local church building in Kakuruk village, Plateau state, even though it had been destroyed in a fire only one week prior when suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked the village and burnt scores to death.

The attack, which happened last month in several villages in Barkin Ladi, Mangu and Riyom local government areas of Plateau State, saw over 120 people killed and over 200 others seriously injured.

Customs officers intercepts truckload of 200,000 live ammunition in Niger(photos)

The Niger, Kwara, Kogi Command of the Nigeria Customs has intercepted an Onitsha bound truck load of 200,000 live ammunition being brought into the country from Benin Republic.

Though public schools in his state of origin - Akwa Ibom - is free, the former plantain seller was enrolled in a private school so he could get quality education.

Nigerian migrants in Libya cry out for help after being locked up in Libyan prison (video)

Nigerians in Libya have sent a passionate appeal to the Federal government to come to their rescue and end their suffering in the North African country.

A video of the Nigerians calling for help is making the rounds on social media. They say they have been locked up in a prison for over five months in Libya and the Libyan authorities have refused to allow them travel back home or continue their journey to Europe.

The migrants also called on clergymen Pastor E.A Adeboye, Apostle Suleiman, Bishop Oyedepo and others to help them.

Former Arsenal and England midfielder, Jack Wilshere has made a sensational move back to his boyhood club after signing a three-year deal.

The 26-year-old midfielder made the emotional decision to leave Arsenal last month after he was told by new Gunners coach Unai Emery that he was no longer in the Club's plan.

NYSC reacts to Kemi Adeosun’s certificate scandal

The National Youth Service Corps NYSC has reacted to the NYSC scandal involving Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun.

Premium Times had over the weekend published a report in which it was alleged that Adeosun skipped the mandatory NYSC scheme and also forged her exemption certificate.

Reacting to the report, the NYSC Director of Press, Adeyemi Adenika in a statement released in Abuja today, said that the scheme would investigate the origin of the allegedly forged exemption certificate purportedly being used by the minister.

Woman tries to commit suicide after her daughter dies while giving birth

A woman tried to commit suicide by jumping into Narmada canal near Limbadia village, Saraspur, India on Sunday after her 25-year-old daughter died during childbirth on Saturday.

The rescued woman has been identified as Savitaben Bharatji Thakor (pictured) a resident of Thakor ni Chali near Bombay Housing at Saraspur.

A security guard deployed at Narmada canal saw Thakor jumping into the canal. He immediately dived in and rescued her.

After she was taken out of the canal, she broke down lamenting about her daughter’s death, said the security guard.

When contacted, her sister-in-law Madhu Thakor said:

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo briefly attended the political rally of a governorship aspirant of PDP in Ogun state, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu. The former president who tore his membership card of the party in February 2015, attended the rally today dressed in a blue  kaftan.

There was wild jubilation at the rally ground when he dashed into the venue and waved, and  wished the party and Oladipupo Adebutu success in his aspiration.

He however did not speak much at the rally that took place at an expanse ground within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Policemen chase, force student to jump off bridge in Lagos

A 24-year-old 200-level Material Science Engineering student at the Kwara State University, Oluwadara Adedayo, is lying critically ill in the hospital after sustaining serious injuries while running away from armed policemen attached to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Lagos State Police Command.

Adedayo who spoke to Punch, said he was in Lagos undergoing his Industrial training when he was accosted by some policeman at Cele bus stop as he was heading towards the Yaba area of the state last Monday. They searched his phone and also his modem and found nothing incriminating. Instead of letting him go, they ordered him into their vehicle. He resisted and ran away from them. While they were pursuing him, he jumped off a bridge and sustained serious injuries.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two persons for allegedly printing electoral materials believed to be for Saturday’s governorship poll in Ekiti, at the Gbagada area of the state.

The state commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, led detectives to the printing press, O’ Naphtali at 13A and 13B, Oguntona Street, Gbagada, allegedly owned by one Eniola Fayose who hails from Ikere, in Ekiti state and was not on seat when police stormed the premises.

As at yesterday evening, the company’s Admin/Human Resources Manager and Graphic Artist were being quizzed by detectives at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja.

A former deputy governor of Ondo State, Lasisi Oluboyo, whose daughter, Khadijat, was found in the room of her boyfriend, Adeyemi Alao, on Sunday July 8th, has accused the suspect of killing his daughter for ritual purposes.

Khadijat, a student at the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, was found dead in Alao's room. 

Reacting to the unfortunate incident, the distraught father who spoke to newsmen yesterday, said his daughter was killed for ritual purposes and maintained that the young lady was charmed and hypnotized, adding that Khadijat could not have gone to Alao's house on her own volition.

Though the slaps aren't real (they were just messing around), most of their fans believe it is and are praying to God for peace on their behalf.

Spain appoint former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique as new coach

Former Barcelona manager, Luis Enrique Martinez has been officially appointed the new coach of the Spanish national team. 

The president of the Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales announced his appointment this afternoon at a press conference.

The 48-year-old will replace Fernando Hierro, who had taken over as interim coach following the sacking of Julen Lopetegui two days before Spain’s opening World Cup game against Portugal.

Lucky escape as Kogi State University student finds snake under his bed (photos)

Facebook user, Yinka Oluwafemi has warned students of the Kogi State University to exercise more caution, use repellents and lock doors and windows.

He issued the warning after a student found a snake under his bed in one of the school hostels.

"#Warning  
This is raining season, as much as you can, clear your surroundings. This snake was found in the room of a student in his bed, thank God he was sensitive enough to see it before sleeping. 
Lock doors and windows as early as possible at evenings, u can also spray repellents and the likes to chase the unwanted away."

Famous Sri Lankan singer stabbed to death with scissor in her home, as police declare her husband wanted

Famous SRI Lankan singer, Priyani Jayasinghe has been stabbed to death with scissors in her own home.

The vocalist's body was found stabbed to death at her home, and she's believed to have been killed with a pair of scissors in the Kalutara District, around 17 miles south of the capital Colombo.

According to news outlets in Sri Lanka, the singer was beaten and then stabbed to death with scissors; a call was placed to the country’s emergency line 119 around 8.45pm on 8 July local time. She later died from her injuries at Panadura Base Hospital.

Authorities in Panadura are hunting for Priyani's husband, Rasika Eden Prabhath in connection with the crime.

Priyani's death was confirmed by her family members on Facebook.

A message posted with it read: "Rest in peace Sister Priyani..May you attend Nibbana. May you be born among us again...May you attain the supreme bliss of nibbana!!"

2 dead, others injured in multiple accidents in Imo State (graphic photos)

No fewer than two people have died and others were injured in an accident involving multiple cars and a motorcycle in Imo state.

The accident which was reportedly caused by a speeding driver saw multiple vehicles collide with each other before knocking down a motorcyclist who was carrying a lady along the Onitsha-Owerri highway in Mgbidi, Oru West local government area of the state.
