Ban on FOREX for food importation is anti-people- PDP tells President Buhari

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described President Buhari’s directive to the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN against the issuance of FOREX to importers of food products, as ''anti-people'', mean, ill-timed and completely against the wellbeing of Nigerians.

Recall that during the SALLAH break, President Buhari announced that he has ordered the CBN not to issue FOREX to food importers. According to President Buhari, the agricultural sector has grown tremendously and his administration has been able to attain full food security.

Speaking at the event, President Buhari revealed that the Federal Government invested huge resources in the health sector in the last 4 years which include an increased budgetary allocation to the sector from N259 billion in 2015 to N340 billion in 2018.

“Accordingly, significant stride has been made to life expectancy and reduced some of the killer diseases associated with child and maternal mortality claiming 70 death per 100,000 and 90 persons by the year 2007 as explained in the United Nations sustainable development goals.

“Despite this, more efforts are needed to fill in the wide range of diseases and remain persistent in the emerging health issues in our society.

“To achieve this, we must now reveal effort to focus on providing more efficient funding on the health sector" he said.

The media personality in her congratulatory post, recounted how Toyin Abraham took charge of her journey and was so determined to give herself a better ending than her beginning. According to Toke Makinwa, the new mother struck rock bottom but didn’t stay down or let that define her.

Reno Omokri to Buhari: Ask CBN to stop giving your children FOREX

Reno Omokri has described President Buhari as a hypocritical leader for giving an order to CBN to stop granting Foreign Exchange to importers of Food products.

Taking to his social media handle to express his feelings over the recent order, Reno  asked the President to also use his executive powers to stop CBN from granting FOREX to some of his children currently studying abroad. He also asked President Buhari to order CBN to stop issuing FOREX to himself whenever he desires to travel to Europe for medical attention

Update: Todd and wife Julie Chrisley turn themselves in on federal tax evasion charges and bank fraud

American reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley of "Chrisley Knows Best" have turned themselves in to the FBI office in Atlanta after being indicted by a federal grand jury for tax evasion and other financial crimes.

According to ET, the couple drove from Nashville to Atlanta late Tuesday and stayed in the city overnight before surrendering themselves to the FBI around 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday. 

A source tells ET that although Todd and Julie are "extremely nervous," they're also "happy in a way that it's coming to a head so they can successfully get this behind them."

Policeman arrested for insulting President Buhari, Osinbajo, IGP on Facebook

A policeman attached to the Yobe State Police Command has been arrested for insulting President Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu on Facebook. 

The Policeman identified as Sunday Japhet had alleged that the country is being led by evil men in his August 9 Facebook post. He also announced that Police Officers will be holding a protest over their salaries which has been kept in a joint account by some unmentioned people to generate bank interests.

American reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley of "Chrisley Knows Best" have been indicted by a federal grand jury on a litany of financial crimes including tax evasion, bank fraud, wire fraud and multiple counts of conspiracy.

This was announced in a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Northern District of Georgia on Tuesday, August 13, 2019.

"Todd and Julie Chrisley are charged not only with defrauding a number of banks by fraudulently obtaining millions of dollars in loans, but also with allegedly cheating taxpayers by actively evading paying federal taxes on the money they earned," U.S. Attorney Byung J. “BJay” Pak said of the criminal indictment which was filed on Tuesday.
