Pope Francis was rescued by firefighters after he got stuck in an elevator for 25 minutes, ahead of his weekly address on Sunday, August 31.
“I have to apologise for being late. I was trapped in a lift for 25 minutes, there was a power outage but then the firemen came,” the smiling 82-year old pontiff apologized to crowds gathered in St. Peter's Square, Vatican City on Sunday, after showing up late for his weekly address.
