FG approves construction of Ebonyi International Airport

The Ebonyi State Government's request for the construction of a new International Airport, has been been approved by the Federal Government. 

In the approval letter signed by  Capt T A Alkali, Director Safety and Technical Policy of the Ministry of Aviation on behalf of the Minister for Aviation, Hadi Sirika, the Ministry said the decision was reached after its technical team and relevant agencies visited Ebonyi state to inspect the proposed site for the airport.

'Violence cannot save you' - PDP reacts to the disruption of its Kogi governorship primary by mocking Governor Yahaya Bello

The Peoples Democratic Party has accused Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state of being the mastermind of the gun attack at its governorship primary in Lokoja in this early hours of Wednesday. September 4th.

Voting had ended and the sorting of the ballots had just begun when gunmen invaded the Lokoja Stadium, sending everyone scampering for safety.  

Kola Ologbondiyan, the party’s spokesman, at a press briefing in Abuja today, accused Bello of sending the gunmen, stating that they were “Known APC faces”. He did not provide any proof to justify the accusation but he said his party had “a peaceful, decent, clean, clear, credible and transparent process” in the conduct of its primary.

A follower struggling with self-esteem issues reached out to the 26-year-old rapper to ask for advice and Cardi said the best way is "self care".

FIFA has confirmed the three final contenders for the 2019 Best Men's Player award. 

The Football's governing body had initially released a 15-man shortlist, but Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), and Lionel Messi ( FC Barcelona) are the final contenders for the award. 

Van Dijk is the favourite to win the award after he was named the Uefa Men's Player of the Year last week ahead of Messi and Ronaldo.

EFCC arrests female suspect on FBI list

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed that its collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigation has led to the arrest of a female suspect cyber fraudster in Edo State.

EFCC said the female suspect (names withheld) worked in collaboration with foreign counterpart in dark web. Head of Benin Zonal Office Muhtar Bello, said the female suspect was involved in obtaining and stealing people’s identification information which she forward to her American collaborators.

Uriel Oputa slammed a follower who mocked her for choosing to be celibate.

The former Big Brother Naija reality star shared a video by of herself getting ready and revealed in the caption that she's celibate.

Fraudsters are impersonating our phone numbers and agents - FBI issues public warning

The FBI has issued a warning to the public about a nationwide scam involving perpetrators impersonating its agents and phone numbers.

In targeting unsuspecting victims, the fraudulent caller uses technology to "spoof" the phone number from an actual FBI field office, so victims believe the inbound call is coming from federal law enforcement.

The agency indicated scammers have mimicked telephone numbers belonging to FBI field offices in California, Montana, Colorado, Texas, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and Kentucky. Once connected with a targeted victim, scammers indicate that a warrant of arrest exists for the person, which will be dismissed by a federal court in exchange for immediate payment.

Ubi Franklin's first baby mama, Jennifer has made a clarification on what she meant when she said she plays the role of a father and mother for their daughter, Zaneta. 

Recall that the US-based lady's birthday message to her daughter which read in part  "Today am thankful and grateful to God for giving me the wisdom, Grace and strength to play both role of a father and mother in your life my Amazing blessing" was misinterpreted by those who felt it meant Ubi Franklin was a deadbeat Dad. 

Jennifer backed  Ubi Franklin's comment of her birthday message meaning that he is not physically present in the US to take care of their daughter and not being a deadbeat father. According to her, people will always say what they don't understand.  

Dambazau’s son sacked as House of Rep member by Kano Tribunal

Shamsuddeen Dambazau, the son of former Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau has been sacked as the member representing Sumaila/Takai Federal Constituency by an election petition tribunal which sat in Kano on Friday August 30. 

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was ordered to issue certificate of return for the constituency to Surajo Kanawa, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). 

Shamsuddeen came second in the APC primaries but became the party's flagbearer in the House of Representatives election after a Federal High Court in Kano disqualified Kawu Sumaila, following the provision of evidence that the former presidential aide contested for Kano South senatorial ticket on the platform of the APC.

Senator Ibrahim Shekarau on Friday August 30, slammed Governor Nyesom Wike over the demolition of a mosque in Port Harcourt and declaring Rivers State which he governs a Christian state.

Nigerians in South Africa stormed the Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria, South Africa, to protest xenophobic attacks directed at them in South Africa.

The protesters, mostly made up of victims of xenophobic attacks in South Africa, said on Thursday, August 29, that they are angered by the recent massive looting of foreign-owned shops in the city by some South Africans.

They complained that they lost properties and business investments when South Africans carried out an attack on foreigners on Wednesday, August 28, at Pretoria business district.

Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has fired back at Governor Nasir El-Rufai over his comment of him becoming a blogger after losing his re-election. 

In his counter-statement to the Kaduna Governor's claim, Shehu Sani stated that El-Rufai has been reduced from a dwarf to a leper and abandoned by President Buhari. He also alleged that Governor El-Rufai is focused on his presidential ambition while his state is under seige by kidnappers.
